Barbara Streisand and her Maltese; Andorinha and her Maltese

This is one of the very few posts I’ll be writing in English. The reason is that someone extremely nice left me a comment in English, with a link that I simple loved. I just wish to thank very much this person’s kindness.
You see, I had no idea that so many people were Maltese lovers. I never thought of having a small dog, there was even a time where I actually bought a Gran Danoir (the one that look like a horse) but unfortunately the neighbors complained about the dog’s noise and I had to return it after a week.
My cousin had the sweetest dog. He sheltered her after having picked her up on the street (the dog was abandoned), but sadly the dog drown in their swimming pool after 2 years. We all loved my cousin’s dog, but we never knew what breed was she. When I saw my Colleague and friend’s dog, here in Netherlands, I found out Fofa was a Maltese. I studied the breed and I felt in love with it immediately.
They are sweet, gentle, dedicated, they don’t leave fur anywhere (actually they are considered hypoallergenic), they are cheerful, they hardly ever bark, they are transportable, and they look like teddy bears their whole life.
Everybody likes my dog, even friends that usually don’t like dogs, they all love my Petzi.
Barbara Streisand had a Maltese (actually her was the Bichon Frisé – a mix between a maltese and a poodle) dog called Sammy.
During one of her acts in Paris, she called her dog to the stage and sang “Smile” from Charlie Chaplin. I do like this Lady and her voice.

“Barbara’s recording of Chaplin’s “SMILE“, first heard in Chaplin’s 1936 classic comedy, Modern Times(from her album “THE MOVIE ALBUM”) was named ” Official Anthem of Spirit by Humane Society of United States. Barbara recorded it two days after the death of her bichon frise, Sammy, who had been her companion since 1994.

The HSUS contacted the artist’s representatives to express their condolences after reading about Sammy’s death. Barbara responded and graciously granted The HSUS the right to use her recording in conjunction with our Kindred Spirits memorial program. “Smile” is now the official Anthem of Spirit for those who have experienced the loss of a pet.”

All of a sudden I found out there a lot of famous people with the same passion for these eternal puppies.
Here are some pictures, and some beautiful Maltese’s, but…mine is just the most beautiful of all of them! Cause she is MINE! And as my friend said: these dogs are dangerous…they just steal your heart!
